The Test of English as a Foreign Language evaluates the level of language in non-native English speakers reading “, writing, listening and speaking. Dictionary is not a part test, but rather included into the four skills.

Homonyms refer to words that are spelled the same but have different meanings. Season, for example, can mean a time like autumn or add flavoring such as salt. Homophones are words that sound the similar but are spelled differently, such as “great” and “array”. TOEFL tests for both of them in a section of the read.
